Handicap

Rules

A numerical measure of a golfer's playing ability, used to level the playing field between golfers of different skill levels.

Explained Simply

Your handicap tells others how many strokes above par you typically shoot. A 20-handicap golfer usually scores around 92 on a par-72 course. The handicap system allows golfers of different abilities to compete fairly against each other.

Example

""My handicap is 18, which means I get one extra stroke on each of the 18 holes in a net competition.""
